THE VERDICT.
That Pitt is the Best Bnght Tobacco
County in the State.
| Never has there been a time
\since the war that prospects were
so bright for Pitt county as now.
Never has there been atime since
the war when there was so much
money being paid tothe toiling
farmers during the month of Au-
gust and September as at the
present time-
That Pitt county is on a boom
is the universal verdict. Stran-
gera who come to oar market all
say, what a great county Pitt
must be! A mivent tobacco-
nist, of Danville, who has been on

wo Granville eounty men who
had becn down here curing to-
bacco were returning home, aud
heard talking about Pitt county
while they stood waitnig for the
moraing train. One said be nev-
er had seen such a place as this
coanty for bright tobacco; that
some other sections might sur-
pass it on heavy wrappers, but
Pitt can beat the world on grow-
ing bmebt catters. Both said
they were going to move to
Pitt next year.
And it is with every one. On
the warehouse sales or through
the countrv people are just as-
tonished at what this good old
county is doing.
Truly, there is much to think
abont the future of Pitt county
and Greenville. It is is noticea-
ble that business in every depart-
ment is rapialy improying, and
we expect yet to see the town
alive with factories. Develop
other enterprises in proportion to
the growth of our tobacco induas-
tries and you will see right here
one of the most prugressive town
in the State. "
