Because the principals of the
Mt. Olive and Pikeville schools
voted the Democratic ticxet at
the recent élection, the Populist
patrons of both schools have
withdrawn their children, inform
ing the principals that Hereafter
they must look for their support
from the Democrats. We are
also informed that they are
treating their pastors, who voted
the Democratic ticket, in like
manner and are actually with-
holding the amounts pledged to
their support. What are we
coming to, and whither are we
drifting? -Goldsboro Headlight.

secretary. The object of the as-

everything the farmers and peo-
ple generally need. This kind of
a society might be formed in
many other sections and be of
great advantage.
