Description
Capt. Rush, a member of the USNA Class of 1941, was a native of Alabama. During much of his career he was involved in submarine operations, including duty in the THRESHER, BILLFISH, CARBONERO, QUEENFISH, AND BLACKFISH. During assignment to the Office of Naval Operations he made recommendations that involved the polar passage of the USS NAUTILIS and he was also involved in the development of the Subroc Missile System. He describes his experience at the Naval Academy and his WWII service aboard submarines. - May 20, 1987; May 11, 1988
