Letter from Ty Cobb to C. F. Rhem
Description
Charles Flint Rhem was a student at Clemson University at the time this letter was written. Rhem was a star pitcher for the Clemson team and he tried to bring himself to the attention of Frank Navin, owner of the Detroit Tigers, in hopes of getting hired for the team. This letter from Ty Cobb, who was player/manager for the Tigers at that time, was in reply to Rhem's letter. Navin did not decide to hire Rhem.
