Ian Bryan

Title
Ian Bryan
Description
From author: I celebrate my diversity by using my identity as teaching points and way to connect with my patients. On the surface people see me as a white straight man (though some would argue gay man based on my flamboyant personality.) When actually, I identify as neither! I identify as a Biromantic Asexual Cisgender Bilingual Greenvillian man born a Conch and raised by a strong single mother (and that’s only identifying part of me.) But this allows my patients who are outside the societal binaries to feel more comfortable with me but also to educate others that there are more identities than the binaries that form white straight man. Ian Bryan is an ECU & BSOM Alum (Class of 2012 & 2016) and is a 1st year Resident in the Department of Pediatrics at ECU.
