- From author: "To be open and honest takes courage but I know it can change hearts and minds. Being yourself and telling your story is truly a form of activism and as an openly gay student panelist for the LGBT Resource Office, I strive to change hearts and minds simply by showing my true colors and sharing my story. East Carolina University and the LGBT Resource Office have been affirmative places which have helped me accept myself and become comfortable celebrating my pride as a member of the LGBT community. I hope to leave behind a safer and more affirmative world for the next generation of LGBTQ+ people." Korey is a senior majoring in criminal justice.
