Richard is going to be the inittal Managing Director of
KENTUCKY/THE MUSICAL if it gets off the ground. (We'll know in
a couple weeks.) This is an outdoor drama project being adapted
from Boonesborough's plans to have a musical celebration at the
Fort, a project that folded when Circuit Judge James Chenault came
Out against it. I was going to write it based partly on my National
Geographic LP, A SONG OF THE CUMBERLAND GAP, as a Kentucky Bicentennial
celebration. Richard and some others suggested that there is great
interest among Bereans to have another outdoor drama, since WILDERNESS
ROAD is no longer running. If Berea College Iresident John Stephenson
gives a positive nod, as well as a key group of Bereans and Madison
County people, we will probably go ahead with it on a crash schedule
in order to open next June. I'11 tell you more about this project
if it starts to happen.
Sincerely,
fj ruth, Cath
