Dear Carl:
This is to officially invite you to serve as a panel member
on the program of the 28th Annual Managers, Directors and
Promoters Conference of the Institute of Outdoor Drama. The
Conference is scheduled for October 5, 6, and 7, 1990 and
will be held in Cherokee, NC, home of the outdoor drama UNTO
THESE HILLS.
The panel is tentatively titled "Open Forum: The Planning and
Development of a New Outdoor Historical Drama" and is
scheduled for Saturday, October 6, from 1:30pm until 3:00pm.
Panel moderator will be Bob Britton, director of TRUMPET IN
THE LAND, who will be in touch with you regarding format
and organization for the panel.
The idea behind this panel is to offer advice and respond to
questions from those individuals who are in the process of
developing new outdoor dramas. I have suggested that each
panel member briefly address a specific area of the
development process, perhaps provide some background on his
or her own involvement with outdoor drama, and then turn the
meeting over to questions and answers. Questions and answers
will be the bulk of the session.
Areas of interest which this panel might address include:
Community Relations
Capital Development
Site Requirements
Organization of the Association
Story, _Identification/Playwrighting
I°m delighted that you are able to serve on this very
important panel. Bob will be contacting you, but if you have
questions in the meantime, please give me a call.
The registration fee for the Conference is $95 per person.
You will receive brochures containing the pre-registration
and hotel reservation forms in early September.
Thanks again, Carl.
