DIVISION OF THEATRE
To: Members of the I.0.D. Conference Panel "Ethics and
Professional Theatre Practice"
From: Dale Miller, Panel Leader
Date: September 10, 1990
Greetings! I know some of you already and look forward to getting to
know all of you next month. Scott has done a terrific job of
recuiting this panel and, together, I know we can "come through" for
him.
In preparation for the panel, I would like to suggest a number of
things. First of all, I hope you all have had a chance to see the
PBS program which served as a model for this panel. If not, you
might be able to catch a re-run or a tape of it. Secondly, look over
the somewhat tongue-in-cheek discussion topics that Scott developed.
Scott?Ts topics should stimulate lots of good ideas. Lastly, I need
you to submit to me 2 or 3 topics which you feel would (1) be of
general interest to the I.0.D.membership (2) help establish a higher
set of ethics for the professional theatre and (3) be subjects upon
which you could offer examples, statistics and/or solutions. BE
WARNED ! I may not ask you your own questions.
As soon as I receive your response I?T1l be able to judge whether or
not we have sufficent breath in our topic areas.
Start thinking! Keep thinking! I?T11 be calling you later this month
to "touch base".
I look forward to seeing you on Sat. Oct. 6 at 3:15 in the Holiday
Inn in Cherokee, N.C.
