Southern grounded

Title
Southern grounded
Description
Print: photographic by Erin Kelly Duncan for Fall 2012 in ART4250. The Eastern North Carolina region has had the greatest influence on my work. As an Eastern NC native, I have grown up looking at this particular landscape on a daily basis. There are always new elements to the region that I haven't noticed before. Most of these elements speak to Eastern NC historical past. I used the Van Dyke process to show the uniqueness and beauty of the Eastern NC region. The Van Dyke allowed me to step away from the distraction of colors in order to create neutral portraits of the area for which I love.
