Oral history on audio cassette of Gibson Prather, Press Secretary to Senator Robert Morgan. Mr. Prather talks about Senator Morgan's narrow loss to Republican John P. East in the 1980 United States Senate race, emphasizing the winning party's use of misinformation to political ends and the role of television in politics. He highlights areas he views as Morgan's strengths, and talks about Morgan's view on labor reform and the Equal Rights Amendment. He cites Morgan's failure to secure the appointment of Charles B. Winberry as a federal judge as one of the greatest disappointments of Morgan's senate career. Interviewer: Pete Daniel. Includes transcript.
