Interview with Mattie Moye King Gaylord (1892?-) explaining the pages of her scrapbook. Gaylord, a 1912 East Carolina Teachers Training School alum, discusses her life and events in Pitt County in the 20th century. She spends much time discussing her childhood, her education, women's fashion, and social norms of the early 20th century. One anecdote of particular note is Gaylord's discussion of the founding of East Carolina University in 1907 of which her father was a part of as a Pitt County Commissioner.
