Description
News and Observer clipping about the death of North Carolina agriculturist Claude T. Hall. Hall (1895-1972), a native of Person County, N.C., participated actively in the development of many farm programs. He is best known for his activities in the credit field and the flue-cured tobacco program in N.C. Hall attended the University of North Carolina and Wake Forest College for one year each. He began his political activities on behalf of the tobacco farmers in 1922. Among many other activities he was president of the Person County Farm Bureau, member of the County Board of Education, chairman of the Person Production and Marketing Administration Committee (later to become ASCS), and member of the State Grange Tobacco Committee.
