The man holding his hand to his ear is the late tobacco auctioneer, Billy Clark of Greenville.

The line is made up of bidders, and the man with hand beside his face is auctioneer. Two warehouses in Farmville were Bell's and Monks. Bells was owned by Bell Brothers and Ivey brothers, one of whom was my father, S. C. Ivey.
