Alex Manly and wife, Caroline Sadgwar Manly
Photograph of Alex Manly and his wife, Caroline Sadgwar Manly. Alex Manly was the editor of the Wilmington Daily Record in Wilmington, N.C., during the late 19th century. He was forced to flee the city on the eve of the 1898 Wilmington race riot. He and his wife later settled in Philadelphia, Pa.
