M.E. Bennett Feb 07 2013

I'm researching my Bennetts in NC,SC & GA 1760-1820 & like to have good historical novel background of the place & time. But I need more than the title of a book : what is its time & place? Does "On a Lonesome Porch" fit or was it contemporary?  Thanks.

Regarding the Illustrator, he was Robert Galster. He resided in New York City with Gilbert Ireland, of whom still remains alive. Robert was a photographer, illustrator and a person of whom loved the Opera with Gilbert. He produced many posters for Broadway, on and off. He was close friends with Mr. Neal A. Prince (International Designer) and Mr. Herbert Waide Hemphill, Jr. (Godfather of Folk Art). Some of his work is listed on the Neal Prince Trust website (nealprincetrust.org).
