Description
Journal of North Carolina Democratic attorney, politician and judge Asa Biggs, 1811-1878, who served as U. S. Representative, 1845-1847, U. S. Senator, 1855-1858, U. S. District Judge, NC, 1858-1861, and Confederate judge, 1861-1865. Scanned images were darkened to increase legibility of the the text. Multiple blank pages were not digitized. The first 85 pages appear to be a kind of address book, listing names under various post offices in North Carolina, including members of the General Assembly. Newspaper articles are affixed to several pages throughout.
