Letter to Helen from Daniel K. Hargan written while in New York, New York. He writes about the birthday gifts he received, what he would like to do when he comes home, and asks about a Japanese submarine that has been brought to the United States. Seaman 2nd Class Daniel K. Hargan (b. 1923) of Rochester, New York, began service in the Navy in 1942. Most of his tour of duty was in the Atlantic aboard the USS YMS 66, an auxiliary motor minesweeper, headquartered in the Panama Canal Zone.
