Description
Letter from William (Bill) T. Sheaffer to his wife Virginia (Ginny) B. Sheaffer while he was undergoing basic training at the U.S. Naval Training Station in Bainbridge, Maryland. He discusses his upcoming visit home, training, and the news of various friends and family. Sheaffer was drafted in 1943, and, during basic training, he was qualified Y3c and assigned to the base personnel office. In December he was transferred to the Naval barracks in Washington, D.C., and worked as a passenger transportation agent.
