Description
A three letter series of correspondence between Lieutenant Commander John W. Newsom, USN, and Captain W. A. Cockell, USN. The letters discuss Newsom's return to duty in the airship organization for the summer of 1948. During his time in the Navy, Newsom attended flight school and briefly flew airships. He later served with airship squadrons ZP-1 and ZP-2 throughout most of the 1950s, before his retirement in 1964.
