My father served on this ship as as a fireman in WWII. His name was George A. Doyle. He passed when I was four.He lied about his age and joined the Navy at 16. He came home a "Ruptured Duck."I have been told that "firemen" stoked the coal into the boilers.

Sir, Ma'am:I am researching WWII era US Navy destroyer ships, in particular-the Benson & Gleaves class, I would to read/download this article written by the captain of the USS Doran.https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/35892#detailsHow may I request a copy? In addition, if you have any further advice on the entirety of your collection regarding Navy ships, please inform. I have found several other references quite valuable, such as the USS Maury.
