The play focused on the years of 1633-1647 and the tensions that arose betwixt the Catholic and Protestant settlers. Beginning in England, Wings followed the settlers across the Atlantic to St. Mary’s City, Maryland’s former capital.

Denzel Washington was a very young actor performing in this play in '76.

I was the Costume and Scenic Designer for this the premier production of Wings of the Morning.
My brother, Merlin L. Taylor,Jr. worked on this production in 1976. He was very proud of the experience working with Denzel Washington.
