Description
In his handwritten letter to his sister and her husband, Marcus Cicero Bogey, in New Bern, N.C., Miles Fleetwood discusses his current family and personal life. Fleetwood tells of his struggles recovering from pleurisy, and with finding a new home for his family. He had recently sold his plantation and those individuals he enslaved. Bogegy also describes his plans to settle a new piece of land near the White and Mississippi Rivers. Fleetwood also talks of his children, his concern with providing a good education for his son, and how beautiful his daughters are.
