Saturday, April 26, 1958, Pg. 1 Scouts not identified. CAPTION More than 1,000 Scouts and Scouters at Camporee held in Greenville. (At the time Scout events were segregated). W.H. Davenport, Chairman of the East Carolina Council's Negro Division, stated that the attendance was "the largest we've ever had at a council camporee". Council Executive O.B. Roberts and District Executive Carl Knott also welcomed the group.
