March 2, 1955, Pg. 12CAPTIONDavenport is Presented Highest Scouting HonorScouting's highest honor, the Silver Beaver Award, which can be bestowed on an adult leader was extended to W.H. Davenport. Davenport is the principal of Eppes High School, was awarded the honor in recognition for his 25 years of service to Scouting locally. He was also instrumental in developing a new camp for Negro Scouts on Kerr Lake.
