Report of Captain Thomas Sparrow, dated August 29, [1861], describing briefly the events of Battle of Fort Hatteras and their surrender to the Union forces. Includes a list of the names of wounded and captured members of the Washington Grays. The Civil War papers relate to the activities of Captain Thomas Sparrow and his Washington Grays from their formation as a volunteer company in April of 1861, until their parole from a Union prison in February, 1862.
