Letter from Edward Stanly, a lawyer in San Francisco, California to Thomas Sparrow in Washington, N.C. Stanly thanks Sparrow for his previous letter and mentions his children, discusses business, and says he attended Supreme Court in Sacramento. The letter also includes a personal attack on Congressman Kenneth Rayner, calling him selfish and insincere. From the papers of Thomas Sparrow (1819-1884), a lawyer from Washington, N.C. who fought in the Civil War and later represented Beaufort County in the North Carolina General Assembly.
