Letter from George Attmore Sparrow to Thomas Sparrow
Date: Oct. 27 1862 |
Letter from George Attmore Sparrow at the Hillsborough Military Academy to his father Thomas Sparrow. George writes to his father that he feels anxious because he hasn’t heard anything from Wilmington in several days, but he trusts in providence to protect him from harm. George also says that he needs money to pay for his winter uniform and that he would like for his father to send him an overcoat that he left in Wilmington. George relates some news he heard about friends in Washington. His session at the academy ends on December 20th and he wants to spend his Christmas vacation visiting relatives instead of going to Wilmington.
