Description
On November 5, 1909, Greenville residents witnessed a horrific auto accident on Dickinson Avenue that killed state senator James L. Fleming and Harry Skinner, Jr., and injured Edward Gaskill Flanagan and S.C. Wooten. Fleming was responsible for introducing a bill that led to the establishment of East Carolina Teachers Training School in Greenville. Note: the 1912 date on the verso of the photo is incorrect.
