This is Dr. George Bissinger (note the spelling). The instrument looks like a violin, not a cello. A profile on the ECU Physics website indicates he has done a tremendous amount of research into the acoustics of violins. If I recall correctly, he also made violins and played violin in the ECU orchestra.
