Description
Letter from L. G. [Leander Gwinn] Hunt to his sister, M. A. [Martha] Conrad of Clemmonsville, N.C. written from Fort Hill on the south of Washington, N.C. on January 20th, 1862. Hunt was assistant surgeon for the 27th Regiment N.C. Troops and he details incidents surrounding the Burnside Expedition in Beaufort County, N.C., including how the city of Washington, N.C. and Confederate troops are preparing in case of attack by Burnside's men. Hunt also inquires about friends and family back home.
