Description
This revolutionary large research microscope was introduced in 1937, but few were made until the 1950's. This is the second version with the capability of using two light sources, one above and one below, simultaneously. This instrument has an unusual dual diaphragm Berek condenser. The Ortholux was designed to take an extremely wide variety of optics and accessories and was one of the earliest models to use a trinocular head for photography. They were very ruggedly built and many are in use today. The serial number is 540193.
