Description
Stativ IVa was the standard research laboratory microscope in numerous laboratories for about 25 years. Among the many scientists who regularly used this model were Paul Ehrlich, Emil von Behring, Elie Metchnikoff and Shibasaburo Kitasato. There is a German commemorative banknote showing Paul Ehrlich with his Stativ IVa. Among Paul Ehrlich's accomplishments were the development of many aniline dye tissue stains using some of the synthetic textile dyes developed in Germany. The serial number is 10502.
