- There were many manufacturers in France, who made microscopes for domestic sale and export to America and other European countries. This microscope has a parallel-linkage fine adjustment like that used by Leitz, and a French appearing foot. The microscope is labeled Alfred Robbins Co., Chicago and was manufactured in the last half of the 19th century.
