The front of this card depicts a young girl sitting in a meadow with a doll feeding two birds from the palm of her hand. The reverse proclaims 'Do Not Drink Ice Water!' and promotes the ease of using extract over Medicinal Roots to make Root Beer. From the card: 'Allen's Root Beer Extract makes a splendid drink for children, being made from Roots and Barks, (Ginger, Dandelion, Hops, Wintergreen, etc.,) making a pleasant and healthy beverage. Price, 25 cents... is a medicine as well as a beverage, acting gently on the Kidneys and Liver.' Sold by C.E. Carter, Pharmacist (Lowell, Mass.).
