Lancet

Title
Lancet
Description
Rectangular red leather box has leather- strip hinge attached to back of lid. Brass clasp and hook are centered on the front. Two initials, perhaps “RS,” framed with rope-design are embossed on top of lid. The lid and base interior are fitted for the instrument. Soft wool fabric lines the case interior. This button lancet has a rectangular brass body with one rounded end. A thin, spring lever releases the steel, hatchet-shaped blade at the top of the brass body. A maker’s body side reads, “Weigand & Snowden.”
