Orville Wright glider flights - Sepia #3

Orville Wright glider flights - Sepia #3
Orville Wright and British aviator Alex Ogilvie assembling the 1911 glider. Note that neither the balding Orville nor Ogilvie is wearing protective hats—a rare omission at Kitty Hawk. The typed inscription (on verso?) is: "Early type of Wright glider at Kitty Hawk. Photo [must] be returned to D. V. Meekins [possession?]." Meekins' name was scratched out and replaced with that of "A. W. Drinkwater, Manteo, NC." Meekins was a colorful photographer and newspaper reporter.
