Title
Hotel Roanoke, Manteo, N.C. - Cyanotype #15
Description
Orville Wright does not indicate where he and his party lodged on their 1911 venture to Kitty Hawk. He and Wilbur usually stayed at the Tranquil House when they passed through Manteo. Perhaps in 1911 they lodged at the impressive Hotel Roanoke, opened on November 1, 1899, by N. E. Gould, formerly of Chatham, Mass., also proprietor of the smaller Tranquil.
