Greenville in Reelife Digital Copy extra footage

Title
Greenville in Reelife Digital Copy extra footage
Description
Digitized copy of a silent, itinerant film that was captured in June 1941 by E. V. Atkinson, director and cinematographer for Reelife Motion Pictures. The full film footage includes scenes of Greenville, North Carolina including East Carolina University, city officials, city departments, industries, street scenes, churches, civic clubs, and beauty spots. The film was originally recorded on 16mm acetate reel and was first shown at the Pitt Theatre. While the film presents many aspects of life at the time, it is only a snapshot of a segment of Greenville and is not representative of the entire community. It is unclear who made this digital copy of the original film. The digital file was stored on a compact disc in 2006. The last 3 minutes of this digitized copy contain footage that was lost during conservation and restoration efforts in the later digitization process in 2020. This digital item contains the last few minutes that were lost. The full film can be viewed in Digital Collections - https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/61841. Creator: Atkinson, E. V. / Contributor: Kittrell, William B. (William Beau), 1937-; Reelife Motion Pictures - 2006
