P.O. Box 11

Bath N.C.

July 14, 1962

Dear Mrs. Fletcher:

As librarian of Bath Community Library I would like to ask you if you would donate us some of the books you have written.

I was once in your home and saw your wonderful library. Which the occasion was to get a table etc. for the Palmar [sic] Marsh House that you had given. And also to recall who I am I was the one who helped you climb up and down the hills the night of Queen Anns [sic] Bell Pageant.

Our circulation is increasing and we have many request [sic] for your books. We have no finance to purchase anything only the Bath P.T.A. gives us $50.00 a year and that is consumed by building expenses. All our books has [sic] been given to us by the Book Club and different people.

We have the following of your books,

1 Roanoke Hundred

2 Queens Gift

3 The Scotswoman

4 Raleighs Eden

5 Toil of the Brave

6 The Wind in the Forest

[page 2]

The town and library would appreciate any books that you would give us and I would be glad to go for them.

Respectfully yours
