This edition includes the columns Cussin n' discussin and Smoking upstairs. The Cussin' and discussin' article discusses the Dave Brubeck Quartet performance, which included an African American musician. Future performances including African Americans were to be reviewed by the Board of Trustees. The Smoking upstairs article discusses student smoking during the performance of the Dave Brubeck Quartet.
