This image dated April 8, 1963 is of Edward R. Murrow, an American broadcast journalist, who was a pioneer in television news journalism. A native of Guilford County, North Carolina, Murrow gained recognition for his radio broadcasts during WWII and for later TV news reports that lead to the censure of Senator Joseph McCarthy.
