      Pension application ledger, 1889. [Ledger contains index. Non-alphabetically indexed by names of claimants. Gives name, unit, page number, and usually the claim number. Names found on the inside covers are not always found in the index. Names of deceased servicemen usually do not appear in the index, even though they are the subject of the claims. Only those persons filing claims are indexed. Check for multiple entries.]
