This is a collection guide. It is a description of archival material held in the Special Collections Division,
J.Y. Joyner Library, East Carolina University. The materials described here are physically available in our
reading room. None of the original documents in this collection are digitally available online at this time.
Collection (1863-1865) including correspondence, company returns, clothing reports, equipment reports, orders, invoices, ordance reports, etc.
Papers (1858-1921) consisting of copies and originals, consisting of correspondence, equipment catalogues, and miscellaneous.
Journal (1905-1906) consisting of reminiscences, historical, genealogical notations, insurance, autobiographical sketch, textbooks, journal entries of salaries, etc.
Letter (1864) from appealing for Governor Zebulon B. Vance's aid in acquiring a winter coat during the Civil War. Also includes unprocessed materials.

Papers (1942) consisting of a photocopy of a diary, references of ships and aircraft, statistics concerning troops, air and naval strengths.
Records (1910-1961) including correspondence, herd books, herd register route books, production records, farm records, a time book, photographs, clippings and printed materials.
Papers (1859-1928) including correspondence, receipts, oath of allegiance, etc. relating primarily to the Civil War and local conditions.
Papers (1854-1865) of Robert C. Caldwell, a private soldier from Cabarrus County, NC, who served in Company C., 10th Battalion, North Carolina Heavy Artillery during the Civil War.
