Biographical/historical information

Edwin S. Ward was born 1893 December 16 to William T. and Harriet Eleanor (Smithwick) (Mariner) Ward. He enrolled at the University of North Carolina in 1911 and graduated from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia in 1916. Ward was a half-brother to Dr. Napoleon Bonaparte Mariner and nephew of Dr. James E. Smithwick. Ward died 1973 November 7 in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
