The papers consist of handouts and class notes from Nancy Thar Fiedler's attendance at Evanston Hospital School of Nursing in Evanston, Illinois, from 1957 to 1960.
Biographical/historical information
Nancy (Thar) Fiedler attended Evanston Hospital School of Nursing, affiliated with Northwestern University, in Evanston, Illinois, between 1957 and 1960. She obtained a bachelor's degree in health administration from St. Joseph's College in North Windham, Maine, in 1980. In 2009 she was the coordinator for the nurse refresher program at the Area Health Education Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Scope and arrangement
The bulk of the collection consists of materials from Nancy Thar Fiedler's time at Evanston Hospital School of Nursing in Evanston, Illinois, from 1957 to 1960. These materials include class notes, exams, and handouts, covering such topics as gynecology, obstetrics, psychology, psychiatry, and chemistry. Medical pamphlets dated between 1926 and 1958 discuss alcoholism, heart disease, skin infections, stress, childhood diseases, diabetes, and obstetrics. The few personal items in the collection are photographs, newspaper clippings, and a poem.
