Greek life at East Carolina officially began with the formation of fraternities during the 1950s. Sororities followed soon thereafter. A series of meetings and debates on the topic were chronicled in the student newspaper. The Fraternity and Sorority Life Office was previously named Greek Life and is housed in the Departent of Student Engagement.
The Forum/Olympian was a irregulary published newsletter sponsored by members of East Carolina's Greek community. There were only three issues printed during its publication run.
