Description
Commander Henning, USNA Class of 1941, comments on his experiences at the Naval Academy, assignment to the minesweeper USS LONG, duty in the Aleutian Islands, and kamikaze attacks on the BELLEAU WOOD. Postwar reminiscences concern supervision of Japanese minesweeping operations, duty in the ROGERS and HANSON off Korea, command of a minesweeping squadron, service at Malta, and assignment to the Naval Academy staff.
