Scope and arrangement

This one-sheet version of Popple's famous twenty-sheet map of the British Empire in America (1733) represents the first large-scale English mapping of the North American continent. It is one of the two most important maps of the continent published during the colonial era (the other being John Mitchell's map of 1755).
