The papers consist of two biographies about Francis Theodore Elliot.


Biographical/historical information

Francis Theodore Elliot was the son of Francis Henry (Ellias) Elliott from Prussia, Germany who owned Elliott's Department Store in Taneytown, Maryland.

Francis Elliot married Margaret Carson and had Lewis, James, John, Francis, Agnes, Mary, and Margaret. He was employed by a drugstore in Littlestown, Pennsylvania. The pharmacist who hired him paid for Elliot to attend Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia; after graduating, Elliot practiced medicine in Taneytown, Maryland for forty years. His office was in his home with a waiting room, office, and drug room.
